Jail Media: Did you have regular access to telephones? Was it just a collect call, or did you have calling cards?

Ben Smith: It’s a collect call, but you can actually order through the commissary that comes around once a week phone cards. They’re about $10 for 45 minutes to an hour.

Jail Media: Did the jail ever screen your calls?

Ben Smith: There’s signs saying they are screening your calls. Whether they are or not, I’m not sure. Just watch out for what you say on the phone.
